CSA Lincoln Newsletter

PRINCIPAL'S NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS

Welcome back everyone! I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing break. I'll send the full newsletter out this Friday, but wanted to send a few quick reminders out as we start back. School does resume tomorrow, Tuesday, January 5th at 7:45 a.m.

I also want to welcome back Laura Burbrink (6th grade) who was on leave first semester. She has been busy over break getting her room ready and is excited to get started. We are looking forward to having her experience and leadership back in our building.

2016-2017 Enrollment Information

Please complete the below form for next year's enrollment information. This is also coming home on Tuesday, January 5th with your student (yellow paper) if you prefer that method. This form helps us plan for next year's enrollment numbers as there will be a waiting list to get in. If you have child who will be in Kindergarten next year, this form counts as their application.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

2016-2017 Kindergarten Open House

We will be hosting a Kindergarten Open House on Tuesday, January 19th from 6-7 p.m. This event is for families who want to learn more about CSA Lincoln. The application window opens on January 12th and the link to the application can be found on the BCSC and CSA Lincoln website on that date. We will also have computers set up if parents want to apply at the Open House. If you know of families who are interested in attending, please encourage them to apply!

It's all about the books!

Check out the ‘new look’ in the library. We have been changing things around. Books (discarded) are being used for a Holiday Tree. The Series books on the Fiction shelves have been turned on their sides and new shelf markers have been added. Lots to see! Mark your calendar for the next Book Fair-February 8-11 and come see the ‘new look’!

Nurse's Note

Please see this note concerning how to prevent and treat head lice. Like any school, CSA Lincoln is not immune to lice. Please read through these tips and feel free to contact our nurse, Leesa Koopman, if you have any questions.

LUNCH TIME!

Curious what school lunch is like these days? Maybe not, but we would love for you to come eat lunch with your student(s). It is a great opportunity to connect parents with the school. Are the grandparents looking for something to do? Send them in. Feel free to bring in something to eat or buy a school lunch. If you call ahead, they can prepare a chef salad for you (a staff favorite). Please stop in the main office, sign-in and put on a visitor's badge.

HUSKY GRAM DRAWING WINNERS

Students who are seen being SAFE, RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, or a PEACEMAKER earn Husky Grams. The following students were caught following our school-wide expectations during the first two weeks and earned a reward!
Big Brothers & Big Sisters

Information on this great program. Both here and at Northside Middle School I have seen HUGE gains for students who are partnered with a "big". If you have time or know someone who would be a good fit, please consider this program.
