September 2, 2022
Hello Families,
This year's date for Homecoming is Friday, September 16th, and itβs going to be here before we know it. We will have several fun activities, dress up days, a couple surprises we are going to announce, and a community pep rally that week for students and Buffalo Fans. The Student Council is working very hard at creating a fun week for all students, staff, and community members to show our Buffalo Pride! Please be looking for that information sometime next week. We hope that you all encourage your students to dress up on our theme days and come out to the games to cheer on our team. We would also love it if people in the community would join in the fun on these dress up days!! It will be a great week.
Remember the Elm Creek Foundation is having βThe Great Tailgateβ at 6:30 pm at the football field. They will be serving burgers and brats. They do a lot of great things for the school so please support them if you can.
Elm Creek Athletics is selling ads for our indoor events for the 2022-2023 school year. We will have 6 Seniors going around to our local and area businesses on Wednesday, Sept. 7th to ask if you'd like to advertise with the school. They will have paperwork for you to sign. All we will need is an updated business card/logo. The cost is going to be $250 a year payable to Elm Creek Public School. You will get your ad on our digital board in the gyms and in the commons areas for all home events. Individuals and families can also purchase a spot on the digital board. We will coordinate with you to make your family/personal ad for the board. If you would like to purchase a spot on the board please contact Mr Marquez and he will have a student get the information to you. All the money will be put back into athletics and activities for our kids. Thanks for all your support! See you next week!
Reminder: Friday, September 9th is a 2:30 dismissal for ALL students. Bus routes will run at 2:30.

SECONDARY FAMILIES
Hello Elm Creek Families!
September is here, and we are really getting in the swing of things here at school. MAP testing will conclude this week and early next week for our kids. We will use that information to help guide instruction individually for all of our students. ACT Prep is also in full swing. We are working hard at exposing our kids to the information, strategies, and knowledge needed to be successful on this test. It is the number one way to get large amounts of money for college for our students, and we want to help them. Please talk to your students about ACT Prep and start helping us help them. We are going to encourage all students to take the test starting their Freshman year of high school. Stay tuned for more information to come on our ACT night for students and parents.

For Activities the Marching Band went to the State Fair and performed on Tuesday night, Pep Band entertained us at the football game, One Act has play readings starting this week and they are still working on the set, NHS had the Glow Dance after the scrimmages a few weeks ago and has many fun things planned, Choir is singing the National Anthem for us at games, and STUCO is planning Homecoming. We appreciate all the kids, sponsors, and coaches that make Elm Creek great. Itβs very busy!! Next week Junior High Fall Sports get going up at Ansley-Litchfield. I look forward to the next few weeks as we really see our teams and groups grow and learn from the work theyβve put in. EC Volleyball, We DIG it!
The lady buffaloes kicked off their season on August 18th with a jamboree at home against Holdrege. This was a great way for them to get their season underway. We then turned around and hosted our scrimmage for the community to watch Friday. A special thanks to the youth volleyball programs that came in their jerseys and cheered these ladies on. The girls have been working hard in the gym and are excited to get this season underway. August 25th we traveled to Amherst for a triangular against Amherst and Ansley-Litchfield. We can up short both games, but they showed improvement each set. Our first home game will be on Tuesday Sept 7th and we would love to have all your support cheering these ladies on.

From the Gridiron
Hello all,
Itβs great to be back out on the field! The boys put in a lot of work in the weight room and at camps this summer and you could see the improvement during preseason practice. We have a lot of experience returning and it has turned into a more mature and confident group.
We got off to a great start with a 54-28 win over South Loup last Thursday. It felt great to start off the year with a victory, but we have a long way to go to be as good as we can be. This week we play at Bertrand on Friday at 3 PM. I look forward to seeing everyone out to support the squad!
