Welcome to December!

Happy Holidays!

'Tis the season!

December isn't exactly the first month that comes to mind when thinking of warmth, but if you stop to consider it, there is a lot to keep us cozy and content during the end of the year. Crackling fireplaces and fuzzy blankets aside, there is a different kind of warmth that comes from spending more time with family and friends during the holidays or finding ways to support and give to others in our communities, large and small.

One of the ways we here at the Library are trying to bring some warmth to our little part of the woods is by joining with the East County Resource Center for a Winter Wear Drive; the goal is to help warm people physically, so that it's a little easier to feel warm emotionally.

We sincerely wish everyone an amazing holiday season!

Last month at the Upper Skagit Library we...

...learned all about the North Cascades National Park with Dr. Lauren Danner!

Dr. Danner read from her book Crown Jewel Wilderness: Creating North Cascades National Park. Attendees left the event with new knowledge and an eagerness to learn even more!

...listened to local author Nicola Pearson read from her new book, "The Gift."

There was plenty of both laughter and tears!

...celebrated National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)!

Did you hit your word count goals this November?
