The RHE Rattler
September 22, 2020
A Message from Mrs. Frankhouser
The big question-----What will instructional setting changes do to teacher assignments? The honest answer is that we will make every effort to minimize teacher changes for students that are not changing their instructional status. If we have large enough numbers of students choosing in-person, it could force us to ask a remote teacher to switch to in-person. This will cause changes for students. We can't predict at this time what parents will choose. We will know after September 24th. We will begin working on placements and will inform parents no later than October 8th.
Calling ALL RHE 3rd-5th grade Math Whizzes
Rough Hollow Elementary is excited to announce that we have a group of volunteer parents who are creating a Rough Hollow Elementary Competitive Math Team. Students have the opportunity to apply for a position on the team. The team would meet once per week virtually and would prepare for competitions. This opportunity
- Provides students with challenging problems that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Participates in competitions with other schools in the United States and around the world.
- Enrolled in two programs:
- Math Olympiads for Elementary & Middle Schools (MOEMS)
- Math League
If you would like to give your permission for your child to test for a spot on the team, please complete this permission slip and submit it to your child's teacher. You can also email your completed form to Cara Beth McLeod at firstname.lastname@example.org.
