Athletics Corner
A look at this week’s athletics: Our teams split the wins this week, with senior girls and junior boys winning their games against SAB and OLPH, respectively. The senior boys and junior girls lost but both had great games and should be proud of how well they played. The senior boys were neck and neck with SAB until the final whistle, showing grit and determination.
Next week is going to be a slower one as our only teams with games are the Junior B teams. They travel to FRH on Wednesday Feb 8, girls at 4 PM and boys at 5:15 PM. After the 8th, our athletes can rest easy while teachers take in Convention!
Hope everyone has an awesome weekend and enjoys this sun!!!

Professional Learning Day for SWH Staff
On Monday, January 30th, SWH staff engaged in a variety of different sessions. Much of our staff was engaged in a morning session based on student mental health at the Agora and we were joined by over 200 staff from all over EIPS . This session was led by Mardi Hardt, EIPS Mental Health Advisor.
Our Physical Education crew had a joint session with the team at FR Haythorne around different ways to engage students in PE.
In the afternoon, our Certificated staff had a session around assessment led by Mr. Tuckwood while our Classified staff continued their work on how to best support students who are dealing with mental health concerns.
All in all, it was a great day of learning for our staff!
Semester 2 Course Change Requests (coming soon)
Semester 2 began on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 (Day 1 in our school cycle).
Course change requests will be considered once our first 6 Day cycle of Sem. 2 is complete and then a link to the Course Request form will be provided.
Please note: This is a REQUEST form. We do not guarantee that you can make changes to your schedule but we will consider your request and do our best.
School Council
Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 6:30 p.m.
Canteen Volunteers and Menu
Volunteering for shifts in our SWH Canteen with Mrs. Braun is an excellent way to help prepare our students for the world of work. These opportunities help students build confidence, increase skill range, and feel successful as they work towards entering post-secondary or the workforce.
Also being served on Thursdays is $3 pizza slices! Pick from pepperoni, cheese and ham & pineapple.
