Welcome!
We are so excited to see our returning Panthers and meet our new ones! It is going to be a fantastic year as we take one giant leap into learning! We have created some new learning spaces and are so proud to offer Art to all of our students for the full school year! We want to welcome you all to PFE!
Safety
Safety is our number one priority at PFE. The following is important information that centers around keeping our students safe.
- Visitors: If you are visiting PFE, you will be asked for identification and issued a badge to wear while in the building. If you are volunteering, please complete the district application by clicking https://www.humbleisd.net/volunteer
- Arrival: Doors open at 7:30. Students are not supervised before this time. Please do not drop students off in the parking lot.
- Dismissal: Students will be dismissed to go home in 4 different areas (car riders, car pool, walkers and bus/daycare). See below for specific dismissal areas.
- Summer Heat: We will be monitoring the outside temperature throughout the day and be paying close attention to heat advisories. Please send a water bottle to school daily to help your child stay hydrated.
School Hours
Attendance is so important for student success. Please help to get your student to school on time. Our doors open at 7:30 and kiddos are able to have breakfast or head straight back to their classroom.

Dismissal
We need your help to ensure the safety of our kiddos at this very busy time of day. We have 4 dismissal areas. Please read through the following information related to each area:
- Car Riders: Students will be dismissed and loaded into cars in the front driveway. We operate a two lane system. It is important that you stay in your car at all times. Please hang your car plaque with student's name from the rear-view mirror. Teachers will load students in 10 cars (5 in each lane). Cars will be waved forward once all cars are loaded.
- Car Pool: Groups of students will be dismissed and loaded into cars in the side driveway. Carpools consist of 3 or more students. Please see Mrs. Griffing for a car pool plaque for your car.
- Bus/Daycare: Students will be dismissed from the cafeteria and loaded onto buses/daycare vans.
- Walkers: Walkers will be dismissed from the back of the building at 3:20. Students will walk with their grade level in a line along the sidewalk and be released at 3 different locations:
- PFE Walker Pickup in our grassy side area (look for the sign)
at the 4 way stop intersection (Atascosita Pines Drive and Pine Cup)
at the stop light (West Lake Houston and Pine Cup)
We appreciate your patience as our children and parents learn the routines of dismissal. Thank you in advance for your help in keeping our kiddos safe.
Important Dates
- Monday, August 12: First Day of School, doors open at 7:30 am
- Wednesday, August 21: Kindergarten Parent Orientation, 5:00 pm
- Wednesday, August 21: 3rd Grade Parent Orientation, 5:00 pm
- Wednesday, August 21: 4th Grade Question and Answer Session, 5:00 pm
- Wednesday, August 21: PTA hosts Game Night and General Meeting, 6:00 pm
- Monday, August 26: First day for lunch visitors
- Monday, September 2: Labor Day Holiday
Important Information
We welcome you to walk your child to class on the first day of school and take their "first day of" picture. After Wednesday, August 14 students will walk themselves down our hallways as they build their personal responsibility.
Visitors: We are asking that you do not visit your child for lunch until August 26. This allows time for our students to learn the routines of the cafeteria. Thank you for your understanding.
