Grandparents / Someone Special Day
Our Famous Pennsylvanian unit will culminate with a 'Wax Museum' presentation on Grandparents' day! Please have your child practice his or her speech at home. They can glue their speech on the back of a picture of their 'person' in case they are uncomfortable looking out at the audience while they present.
We Love Math!!!
We will complete our Unit 11 study of positive and negative numbers, reflections and symmetry this week and the students will begin reviewing on Friday for our next test.
ELA
Writing ~
We are working hard on the informative essay that accompanies the Famous Pennsylvanian project.
Reading Groups ~
A spotlight on 'Nova' - These students are reading all kinds of high interest non fiction articles with me! This week we will each chose a favorite story from the Boys' Life magazine for us to read together. We will then refer to the details and examples in a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and then draw inferences from the text.

Social Studies
Now that we know where the Midwest states are located, we are studying them more in depth. This week we will continue to learn about the people, land, and climate of the U.S. Midwest region.
Science
We will continue learning about the relationships between living and nonliving components in the food webs that the students created.
