Mid-Year Check-In
I know we are four weeks into the new year and are starting to get into the groove of school again. Report Cards and Leadership Notebooks went home last week and we hope that you were able to take some time and talk with your child about their progress. There is a lot of progress to celebrate from the first semester and we would like to highlight our students, staff, and parents' resiliency during this school year. We have all experienced virtual school, some quarantines, and you have all had to trust and rely on email communication from the school to keep up-to-date with your child's school experience.
Again, thank you for your continued support and patience as we navigate this school year. With that being said we are sharing quite a bit of data that shows our progress and results from various assessments and survey data. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email or call the school.

However, our results are still trending in the right direction, and the pandemic has helped us create some fun ways to reach our families. We are also open for ideas if you hear of ways to engage a school community during a pandemic!

Friendship Parties / Thursday, February 11th
On February 11th, we will be having individual classroom Valentine's Day celebrations (Friendship Parties). This will be in lieu of our usual Valentine's Day parties. Students will not need Valentine's boxes and will not be exchanging cards or candy this year. Instead, each classroom will be engaging in fun activities (a "Party In a Bag"!) and enjoying a Valentine's Day treat from our PTA. Students may also wear Valentine's themed apparel (red, pink, hearts, etc.) on this day. Thank you for your understanding and support!

Spring Conferences / Virtual Student Leadership Showcase (Wednesday, February 24th)
The other portion of our evening will consist of a virtual student leadership showcase that will involve the teacher, students, and family members. We will have two times that you can choose from to log into Google meet and participate in a class meeting with your child and his/her classmates. Once the class meeting is completed, your child will lead you through a leadership matrix. The leadership matrix will focus on your child's Leadership Notebook and your family will have the opportunity to learn more about Habit #2 (Begin with the End in Mind) and Habit #7 (Sharpen the Saw). We are excited to get our parents involved in our leadership journey!
