Teen Coffee House--new event starting in January @ the Main Library on Tuesdays!

Volunteer at the Library

We always have multiple opportunities for teens to help out at the Library. Sign-up to help, have fun and earn community service hours--all at the same time! Some things you can do:

  • Book Besties--on Tuesdays at our Main Library, starting January 12th from 4:15-5:15. You can sign-up to be a reading mentor to younger kids, ages 4-8.
  • Maker Mondays--on Mondays at our Main Library for high school age volunteers, starting January 5th from 5:00-6:30. Help younger kids, age 8-12 with STEM projects each week!
  • Tinker Tuesdays--this is a new program at our branch libraries, South & Mahan. We need teen volunteers to help younger kids with STEM-based projects on Tuesdays in January from 4-5 pm.

Monthly Groups

Teen Movie Matinee: Saturday, January 30th @ 2:00 pm--Main Library

For our January meeting, we are watching the film version of Louis Sachar's book, Holes. Read the book before you come to watch the movie, eat popcorn & pizza and hang out with friends.

Teen Writer's Studio: Tuesday, January 5th from 5:30-7:30--Main Library

For teens who love to write and would like to share their stories and get feedback from other teen writers. Bring what you've been working on and we'll help you make it even better! We are also working on a new collaborative writing project. Email Julie for details, juliew@oldhampl.org.
