Raider Families,

We are excited to start the 21-22 school year. We look forward to welcoming all of our students back on Monday, August 23rd.

We continue to register families this week and are still making necessary changes to our master schedule. We ask that students check their HAC accounts on Monday August 23rd for their most updated class schedules.

Our construction project will not be complete for the first day of school, as we had hoped. Until this project is complete, we ask parents to drop off students at our side entrance no earlier than 7:30 am. Classes begin promptly at 9 am.

On the first day of school our student council members will be on hand to help our new students find their classrooms. Our teachers and staff will also be available to help our students.

We look forward to a great school year.

Health and Safety


NISD will continue to consult with and review the guidance issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) as well as local, state and national public health officials. Due to changing metrics and health trends, we anticipate possible changes and revisions to our operating procedures as the school year progresses. Updates will be provided as protocols can safely be changed. The following is a list of general guidelines to start our school year:

  • Routine and frequent cleaning and disinfecting will continue at all district facilities including on school buses.

  • Frequent handwashing will be encouraged. Hand sanitizer will be made available for all students and staff.

  • COVID-19 testing will continue to be offered at NISD campuses for symptomatic individuals with parent consent.

  • Contact tracing will occur as necessary. Students and staff will likely not be required to quarantine if they have been fully vaccinated or, potentially, were wearing a mask when the close contact occurred.

  • In the event of a positive COVID-19 case, notification will be made to individuals with a known exposure.


1. We anticipate heavy traffic getting into the school on the first day. Construction will continue so we ask that you please drop off students between 7:30 and 8:40 am. Student entrance continues on the left side of the campus .

2. Students will find their names on the posted lists around campus to find their first-period room number.

3. Students will receive their official schedule in their first-period class. Staff will be available to assist students in finding classes.

4. We will operate at full capacity this year. Masks are temporarily mandated while indoors.

5. Students need paper and pen on the first days of school. Teachers will provide them with information on supplies needed for their particular classes.

The USDA free meal waiver allows breakfast and lunch at no cost to all NISD students for the 21-22 school year.

Lunch deliveries are not permitted by anyone, to include family members or any third-party vendors like Door-Dash.
