It's JACKETanuary at the UES!

This week we kick off our January Spirit and Service project - Jacket-anuary! From January 3 through January 28, the UES will collect new and lightly used adult and children's jackets and coats. Items can be placed in the bins in the vestibule and main lobby. All items collected will be donated to a local shelter. We hope to collect at least 150 jackets and coats!

The UES Character Strong Theme of the Month is RESPONSIBILITY!

This month we are talking about Responsibility! The dictionary talks about Responsibility in a few ways: fulfilling your duties, being accountable and having consequences, and the independence you can earn to make decisions on your own. We are using this definition at school:
Responsibility: to take action and understand how our choices affect others, ourselves, and the world.

Thank you Room Parents!

A very special thank you to Home and School and all of our Room Parents for celebrating with us! Our grade 4 and 5 students enjoyed their classroom celebrations, and the grade 6 goodie bags were a huge hit! Thank you!

Remote Learning for Quarantined Students

We have received many questions about students joining classes remotely. Please know that only those students who are on an approved quarantine through our Health Office are permitted to join classes remotely. Teachers are notified as quickly as possible of student quarantine status and have 24 hours to get the student(s) set up and ready to learn remotely.

Cell Phone and Electronic Device Reminder

Please remember that the UES follows a no-personal electronic device policy. Any student that brings a personal electronic device (smartphone, smartwatch, or any other device) to school will need to power off the device, and keep it stored in his or her backpack during the school day.

Schools are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property. We encourage students to leave expensive technology at home.
