AP Exam Updates
TROUBLESPOTS: Please note that the largest number of problems with online AP Exams has been with copying and pasting and submitting at the end of the exam. In order to prepare as best you can, please use the exam demo to practice submitting before the day of your exam.

JUNE ALTERNATE EXAMS: If a student decides before logging into an exam that they would prefer to take the alternate exam in June, they should not log into the May exam and then will automatically receive an e-ticket for the alternate exam 2 days before the June test. There is no need to fill out an alternate exam request in this case.
If a student has logged into an exam and encounters technical problems or another type of emergency preventing them from finishing the exam, they must then fill out a request for an alternate exam within 48 hours of the first exam. You can find the alternate exam request here:
AP Makeup Testing Request Form.
Please note that AP Computer Science Principles and AP Studio Art do not have an online exam this year. The exams in these subjects consist of students completing a final submit of their digital files before May 26th.
AP Exams - How Parents Can Help
AP® Exams are May 11–22, and you can help your child get ready by taking these key steps.
• Download and print an Exam Day Checklist for each exam.
• Make sure your child knows what time exams start in your time zone.
• Learn how to get ready for exam day.
• Go through the exam day experience with your child.
Confirm Email Address
It's important that College Board has the correct email address for your child. We're sending crucial information by email, including the e-ticket used to access each exam. Help ensure your child receives our emails.
Practice for Exams
There's still time for your child to review course materials and get ready for exam day. Practice free-response questions are available in AP Classroom. Next week's AP Classes and Review Sessions will focus on the exam day experience and sample exam questions.

Notes from Guidance
Attention Seniors:
All Seniors are required to complete your SENIOR GRADUATION SURVEY. This is how you’ll report to us (and we report to the state) your plans for next year. This is an obligation and must be completed in order to pick up your diploma. The Graduation Survey is in Naviance, under the About Me tab. Detailed instructions for completing the survey are listed on the Guidance Class of 2020 page. Contact your counselor with any questions or issues logging into Naviance.
Parents of Seniors who are thinking about going to Bucks County Community College: There is a Parents Night Zoom on Wednesday, May 20th at 7:00 pm. Parents can ask Academic Deans, Financial Aid Officers, and Admissions Officers any questions, especially as students face uncertainties about the decision to attend college in the fall. Registration Required.
Students planning to attend Bucks CCC: There are thirteen one-full-year Honors@Bucks Scholarships available for high achieving students. The Honors@Bucks application deadline has been pushed back to June 1. More information and the application form are available here.
Attention Juniors:
Some colleges are offering to host virtual college visits (via Zoom) with our students this spring. Be sure to check Naviance > Colleges > College Visits for a list of upcoming virtual college visits, and the Zoom links required to attend.

CBSD Remedial Online Summer School courses will be offered this summer, through Educere. Students may register starting June 1, and registration closes June 26th. Courses must be completed by August 7th. More details and registration information will be made available shortly.
COLLEGE BOARD UPDATE REGARDING SATs
College Board added a new SAT administration for Saturday, September 26, 2020. This date will be for the SAT only, in the United States and internationally, with no SAT Subject Tests available. Sunday testing for religious reasons will be on September 27.
Registration for the 2020-21 SAT administrations will open the week of May 26. At that point, June registrants will be able to transfer their seat to a 2020-21 administration. All other students in the high school class of 2021 who don't have SAT scores will also have early access to register for the August, September, and October administrations. This includes students who had registered for March or May and had their registrations canceled and refunded. For each administration this year, College Board is also preparing to significantly expand their capacity.
For more information, visit College Board’s website for SAT and PSAT-Related Coronavirus Updates.
The College Board announced that the next administration of the SAT on June 6, 2020 has now been cancelled. Additional details from their press release include:
- If it’s safe from a public health standpoint, there will be weekend SAT administrations every month through the end of the calendar year, beginning in August. This includes a new administration in September and the previously scheduled tests on August 29, October 3, November 7, and December 5.
- To replace canceled SAT School Day administrations this spring, the College Board will offer the SAT in schools this fall. Almost all of College Board state partners and many of its district partners have expressed interest in providing SAT administrations during the school day later this fall. This is an important opportunity for the many students who take the SAT for free as part of state- and large district-sponsored programs. Specific information about state and district testing will be shared with our partners in the coming weeks so they may create their testing plans for students.
- In the unlikely event that schools do not reopen this fall, the College Board will provide a digital SAT for home use, much as the organization is delivering digital exams for three million Advanced Placement (AP) students this spring. As with at-home AP Exams, the College Board would ensure that at-home SAT testing is simple; secure and fair; accessible to all; and valid for use in college admissions. Like the pencil-and-paper test, a digital, remote version of the SAT would measure what students are learning in school and what they need to know to be successful in college. The digital, at-home SAT would build on the organization’s experience over the past year of delivering the SAT digitally in schools in several states and districts. While the idea of at-home SAT testing is new, digital delivery of the test is not.

Important Information for the Class of 2020
American Flags
Central Bucks West and the Travis Manion Club invite all CB West families to proudly display their American flags through May and June to honor our Veterans this Memorial Day, and to honor our hometown heroes working on the front line.
Juniors
Students entering 12th grade in the fall are required to have 2 doses of the Meningococcal vaccine. Please check that your child has had this 2nd dose and provide the date to the school nurse, Mrs. Carol Klein, prior to the first day of school. If this is not on file in school, your child will not permitted to attend school after Sept. 8, 2020. At this time, there have been no changes from the PA Department of Health on immunization requirements. We continue to monitor further guidance from the state. Thank you.
Transportation Information
Alternate Bus Stop Request information can be found on the CBSD website under 'Transportation'. These forms must be filed every year if you have a specific need for your student. Click here to be directed to the page.
CB West Summer Reading 2020
In an effort to generate enthusiasm for reading during the summer months, CB West's summer reading program provides our students with CHOICES for reading.
The CB West Summer Reading website includes our rationale for the program, suggested titles for students, and instructions for accessing our eBook collection. When students and staff return to school in the Fall, book discussions will be held in Advisory providing everyone with the opportunity to share what they read over the summer. This communal goal will continue to promote reading for pleasure and build on the school culture at CB West.

Supporting Those In Need
Help us share food with families and children throughout the Central Bucks School District during this crisis! Click HERE to support our Go Fund Me.
The CBSD Farmers Market at Barclay was started a year ago by a small group of principals and teachers, collectively known as The Friends of John Barclay, with a mission to address food insecurity for children in the Central Bucks School District. Through the generosity of local organizations, including Bucks County Opportunities Council (BCOC), Philabundance, and Rolling Harvest, we distributed thousands of pounds of fresh produce to families and children at our monthly markets.
A week after the start of the COVID-19 crisis, we were able to quickly expand our operation, and we now distribute food every week on Wednesdays at 4:00 at Barclay Elementary School. Last week, we shared milk, eggs, fresh produce, and dry goods with over 200 families throughout the district. Unfortunately, this number has been increasing each week. We believe that in a community as well resourced as ours, no child should ever be hungry. We also believe that at some point in time, we all might need a little extra support, and we should feel confident in the compassion and empathy of our friends and neighbors.
Eighty percent of the funds we raise will go directly to CBSD families and children in the form of weekly food support. While we receive many donations, we have built relationships with wholesalers who are able to offer excellent prices on bulk purchases of perishable and non-perishable groceries that we don't receive from outside organizations. We have no overhead or administrative costs, as our efforts are completely volunteer supported. The other twenty percent of the money we raise will be donated to the three organizations above--BCOC, Philabundance, and Rolling Harvest. To give you a sense of their generosity, we received nearly 5,000 pounds of food donations from them just last week. Without their kindness and support, none of our efforts would be possible.
The Friends of John Barclay, and our small group of employee volunteers, are very grateful for even the smallest donations. Please consider supporting families and children throughout the district who need a little help during this difficult time. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
