I hope that you've had a wonderful weekend! Although it started out with some snow, we've enjoyed the sunshine yesterday and today!
Please take a few minutes to read through this week's newsletter! As a reminder that our newsletter is broken down by Current Information, PTA Events, Community Events/Fliers and Chapman Repeated Resources.
If your student is staying after school for talent show tryouts on Wednesday, please make sure to send a note communicating this to their teacher.
Friday is PTA's Plaid Party! Please be sure to RSVP if you will be attending! Our PTA has a fun evening planned!

Student Council Candy Gram Fundraiser
Thank you to everyone who helped make Student Council's candy gram fundraiser a success. Student Council raised $906.50 by selling suckers with sweet messages to students and staff!
Happy Valentine's Day!
Students celebrated Valentine's Day with classroom parties on February 14th! Thank you to our parent volunteers for making it a fun day at Chapman.

Snow Play at Recess
Students are permitted to play in the snow during recess if they are dressed appropriately: Water resistant snow boots (no cloth boots), snow pants, water resistant gloves (no cloth gloves) and a hat/headband/earmuffs.
Students will be going outside unless the temperature is below 20 degrees and/or the wind chill is below 10 degrees.

Kiwanis Read Around the World
The Kiwanis Club of Strongsville is hosting their annual “Read Around The World” event on Saturday, February 25th at Strongsville Library. This FREE event runs from 10:00am - 12:30pm. The program is intended for preschool through 2nd graders. Activities include short skits, puppet shows, face painting, and refreshments. Each child attending will have the opportunity to select and take home a children’s book.
LLS Campaign
SHS JUNIOR CAL KLINZING’S CAMPAIGN TO RAISE MONEY FOR LLS
SHS Junior Cal Klinzing has been selected as this year’s Strongsville High School Student Visionary of the Year for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) annual campaign. Cal’s goal is to raise $75,000 for LLS by Saturday, March 18. LLS has a longstanding mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. You can help Cal reach his goal by donating at his LLS fundraising page. Be on the lookout for other community activities in the next month to contribute to his campaign and raise money for this very worthwhile cause.
Harlem Wizards Return to Strongsville!
Don’t miss the return of the Harlem Wizards to Strongsville on Tuesday, March 7 at 6:30pm. Watch the Wizards compete in a fun-filled basketball game against a team of SCS All-Stars (Teachers & Staff) in the SHS Main Gymnasium. Proceeds from this night will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Purchase tickets online HERE.

Shared Food Guidelines
The District adheres to guidelines for shared food and snacks so that we can promote safety, consistency, and equal access for the growing number of children who have life-threatening food allergies.
Red, White, Blue Encore Calendar
Students attend Encore Classes (Art, Music, PE) during a specific "color" week. Your child's teacher will share their specific class Encore Schedule with you. (Example: If I have PE on red weeks, I would want to dress appropriately (wear tennis shoes) on the days that are shaded red on the calendar).

Before and After School Child Care
Strongsville City Schools partners with Right at School to provide families with before and after school childcare opportunities. The program is located right here at Chapman! For more information and for program registration, please visit their website.
