Notes from our School Nurse
If your child is injured, the health office must have a physician's note outlining restrictions for PE and recess. We also need a physician's note for when your child is returning to normal activities.
With the nice weather, the children will be outside more frequently. Please remind your child to wear appropriate shoes on the playground. If they like to wear flip-flops, pack an extra pair of sneakers in their backpack to wear on the playground.
We are well into “sneezing season.” If your children suffer from allergies and plays outside a lot, remind them to wash their hands and faces, and perhaps change their clothing also, when returning indoors. This will remove pollen from skin surfaces which may help reduce runny noses and itchy eyes afterwards. May is also National Asthma Month. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website for more information: http://www.cdc.gov/asthma/.
As a general health awareness reminder, we continue to discuss the importance of proper hand washing. Please help encourage your student to cough into their elbow/sleeve and wash their hands after blowing their nose, sneezing, or coughing.
Check out the Klem North school website under health office for more information and forms. Please contact me with any health concerns for your child.
Thank you for keeping your child home if they are too ill (severe coughing, vomiting) and or have a fever. Students must be fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medicine before returning back to school.

Update Your Information
As a reminder, WCSD uses the Infinite Campus Parent & Student Portal Messenger system to send important emails, phone calls, and texts throughout the year, including school closings. Please note that your carrier’s message and data rates may apply if you choose the optional text option. Parents may update email information for their child(ren) through the portal by clicking on the Contact Preferences tab. The tab enables parents to decide the ways they receive important school and district messages and the types of messages they wish to receive. Any changes to existing Parent & Student Portal home address or phone numbers must be made by contacting your school’s administrative offices.
Individuals who need their IC activation code of who have questions should contact ICPortal@webstercsd.org.

The proposed Webster CSD budget will go before our One Webster community for a vote on Tuesday, May 21, 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., at the Webster Schroeder High School gym, 875 Ridge Road. Along with the budget vote, there are six candidates running for three open board of education seats. The next regular board of education meeting will be on Thursday, May 9, 6:30 p.m., at the Webster Schroeder High School library. This meeting includes a public hearing of the proposed $177,554,272 budget. As always, your attendance at board meetings is welcomed and encouraged. WEBSTER CSD HOLDING SECOND MEETING OF FAMILIES OF COLOR GROUP
The second meeting of the district’s Families of Color group is upcoming. After a successful first gathering, the date for the next meeting is Monday, May 6 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Webster Recreation Center, 1350 Chiyoda Dr. (off of Phillips Rd.).
Over 30 interested community members, including parents and staff members, attended the first meeting in March. During this first gathering, attendees began to develop a collective vision of Webster’s future as it relates to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
The Webster Families of Color group’s mission is to bring together a strong collective of parents, concerned family members, and allies passionate about building a racially- and economically-just community. If you were unable to attend the March meeting and would like to come out in May, please feel free to attend on May 6th!
If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact Dr. Terry McCarthy, WCSD Director of Humanities and district liaison to the Families of Color group, via e-mail terrance_mccarthy@webstercsd.org or by phone (585)216-0080.
