3rd Grade Academic Interventionist
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Tawna Martello and I will be working with your 3rd grader in the areas of math and/or language arts! I am a graduate of Central Michigan University where I majored in Elementary Education with minors in history, language arts, and psychology. In December 2002, I obtained my teaching certificate and Bachelor's Degree. Since then I have taken several classes in reading and education at University of Michigan-Flint.
teaching is my passion
I have been working with children since I became a tutor for younger kids at the age of 10. Throughout college I was a nanny, daycare worker, and preschool teacher. I also taught first grade internationally in Venezuela, South America. After graduating, I went back to teaching preschool until 2010, when Lake Fenton became my home.
I began teaching as the 3rd grade Academic Interventionist this past January. I am looking forward to working with your student this year! Each week, I will meet with your child at least twice for reading and three times for math assistance. I will be working with the students in small groups and individually, at times. My goal is to help the students work towards mastery in both math and reading. I work closely with the 3rd grade teachers to ensure that the students are understanding the material presented. I use hands-on manipulatives, interactive whiteboard technology, and small group meetings to assist the students with their success.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. The best way to reach me is by email. My address is firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to a great year!
