Girl Scout Troop 4601
January 2015
Cookie Reminders and Tips!
Cookie sales start January 5! Please review these helpful reminders:
Girls can sell door to door, but remember these safety rules:
- Only sell during daylight hours.
- An adult must accompany girls.
- Girls should be in uniform, or identify yourself as a Girl Scout.
- Girls are not allowed to enter customer's homes.
No money is collected during pre-sales. Money is collected upon cookie delivery, the week after Valentine's Day. The only exception to this is if a customer's order contains ONLY Gift of Caring packages, then money is collected at time of order.
Remember to tell customers about 5 for 5. If a customer buys 5 boxes of cookies, they get a coupon with an online code to enter a contest to win 5 cases of cookies.
Always say thank you and use good manners! Make eye contact and speak clearly. Lastly, many customers want to know what we are going to do with our cookie earnings. Please help girls practice saying that we will use the earnings to go camping in March and we are supporting "Dyslexia Awareness and Education" by making a donation to the Roberts Academy.
Cookie Dates
Jan 5- Pre-sale begins. Girls start taking cookie orders. Write all orders on the order card.
Jan 26- Submit order totals to troop leader via email: trish.Goodwin@Hotmail.com
Feb 16-21- Girls deliver cookies to customers and collect payment.
Feb 20- Mar 8- Booth sales. We will try to have 4 booths during this time and girls will pick shifts.
Mar 4- Pre-sale payments are due to troop leader.
World Thinking Day
World Thinking Day is a Girl Scout festival coming up on February 7. This is an international celebration where girls "travel the world" and visit different countries (booths) hosted by other Girl Scout troops. Each booth has snacks or crafts for girls to sample, and girls get a passport which is stamped by each country. A fun patch is also given for participation.
Our troop is representing MEXICO! If anyone has any Mexican items that we could borrow for our booth that would be great! Some ideas are sombreros, a piñata, maracas, Mexican veladora candles, chili pepper décor, Day of the Dead items, a serape, etc.
Please save the date and have your girl attend this event if possible. The event runs from 10 am- 2 pm, but girls do not have to stay the entire time. Drop off is fine (just let troop leaders know). It is super fun!
