John Long Middle School

Sept. 11, 2015

Welcome!

This past week all 6th grade students and new 7th and 8th grade students received a letter from me. I wanted to check in with new families and see how the year started. Thank you for the positive emails and phone calls. Your children have also given JLMS a thumbs up. I was lucky enough to have lunch with our new students Wednesday, September 8th. We plan on having monthly check in sessions.

Badger Results

Badger Results

During April and May of 2015 all Wisconsin public school students in grades 3-8 participated in a reading and math assessment called the Badger Exam, which replaced these sections of the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Exam. The Badger Exam is designed to compare a student's strengths and needs to clearly defined standards, skill levels and/or areas of knowledge. The Badger Exam is aligned to Wisconsin State Standards and measures how students perform in relation to those standards.

Falcon Time

Every Wednesday, students will enjoy Falcon Time. Falcon Time is a 20 minute block that is structured with either WEB Crew, PBIS, or Advisory activities. This week all students received the JLMS handbook and participated in a Handbook Scavenger Hunt activity. The students were also given a handbook sign off sheet which requires a student and parent/guardian signature. The forms will be collected next Wednesday, Sept 16th

Your very own Mrs. Kayzar is competing in Ironman Wisconsin on Sunday, September 13th. Believe it or not, you are able to track an athlete all day. Feel free to follow me as I become an Ironman once again.
