Brickie Pride Kids Football Camp
Brickie Pride Kids Camp is taking place Monday, June 5th - Thursday, June 8th and the deadline to sign up is May 26th. $50 per camper; sibling discount is available! This is a co-ed camp, so we encourage all students to participate. It is a skills-based camp with competitive activities. It is a non-contact camp to introduce skills needed to participate in the sport and encourage physical activity in the summer.
Water Bottles
Students are allowed to have water bottles at school, but they should ONLY have water in them. We are having issues with students bringing in juice and other beverages. The issue is if these spill it causes a sticky mess in the classrooms. Please help us with only sending in water. Juices can be packed for lunch. Thank you for your partnership with this.
Library Book Fees
Parents, please help your students remember to bring back and return their Library Books. We are having several students forget to turn them in. We will be sending home notices for students that have outstanding books, please make sure to ask your student about this. We appreciate your partnership in this matter.
2023-24 School Calendar
Arrival for Car Riders and Walkers
Car riders are to pull around to the back of the school and students will enter through Door 11. Please know that on a regular start day, this door is closed at 8:55 and on Late Start Wednesday it is closed at 9:15. Students are released to go to their classrooms at 8:45/9:05 and the bell rings to start class at 8:55/9:15. If you arrive after these times you need to park in the side lot and walk your student up to Door 1 to check them in. Walkers arrive through Door 7 and this door is closed at 8:50/9:00. If you arrive after that please walk to Door 1. It is important that we keep all our students safe and we need to partner together to make this happen. Thank you for your cooperation.
Buses Only During Arrival and Dismissal
Please remember the front of the school is for buses only during arrival and dismissal. We are having an increase in cars coming through the Buses ONLY lane. If you need to walk a student in during this time, please park in the lot off of 10th Stree and walk up to Door 1. There is an enterance to this parking lot that does not go through the bus lane. Thank you in partnering with us to keep the kids safe!
Lost and Found!
We have a growing number of sweatshirts, coats, hats, and gloves that are being left behind. Please have your child check to the Lost and Found if they are missing items. If possible please write your child's name on a tag in items to help us get them back to their owners if they are lost.
Recess!
Sending in personal footballs, basketballs, and soccer balls for recess
Please make sure if your student brings in any athletic balls from home for recess that they bring them in to school either in their backpack or another ball. We are having students playing with and dropping them along cars and busses creating a safety issue. It is also recommended that students names are written on the equipment they bring in from home. Thank you for your support with this.
Science of Reading!
Some information on What the Science of Reading is and how it is a shift from how reading was taught in the past.

iReady Assessments for Grades K-8!
i-Ready is an online program that will help us determine your child’s strengths and areas for growth, personalize their learning, and monitor their progress throughout the school year. i-Ready allows us to meet your child where they are and provides us with data to inform instruction. i-Ready replaces the Star Renaissance Assessments that they students took last school year.
The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions based on student responses. Each item a student receives is based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier ones. The purpose of this is not to give your child a score or grade but to determine how to best support their learning.
Thank you for your continued support and for being a partner in your child’s learning! I look forward to sharing i-Ready information with you throughout the year. If you have any questions about i-Ready, please do not hesitate to contact the school. You can also learn more about i-Ready by visiting i-ReadyCentral.com/FamilyCenter.

Stay Informed!
The School City of Hobart uses Remind to communicate with families via text messages and/or phone calls.
What are some ways that we use Remind?
- District News- Weekly newsletter, emergency closings, and other important information
- Class Reminders from Teachers - Events, tests, homework, due dates
- Announcements and Celebrations
- One-on-One Help
If you have not been receiving our messages and would like to, please reach out to your student's teacher for their Remind class code, which you will then text to 81010. For example, if you wanted to join a class with the class code @math, you would text @math to 81010.
