What's Happening at Perry 12-12-22
Hi WAPMS Families,
Can you believe we are 7 days away from the end of Quarter 2? I cannot! This will be a busy week of learning and fun! It will move by quickly which means our focus and attention to our work must be on point at all times. There are several opportunities for students to complete assignments and get assistance from teachers to finish on a positive note. It’s a most fun and festive time of year, but please remind our scholars that it’s still school!
Let's make every day count as we finish up the final countdown to Winter Break. If there is anything we can do for you or your family, please do not hesitate to contact us. It’s always best to reach-out and ask clarifying questions rather than be frustrated. We are in this together as a community.
With Great Eagle Piride,
Dr. Coletrain

News from Nurse Wise
Cold and Flu Season is Here! Let’s keep them out of Perry! Masks are optional for Richland One for students and staff. We encourage staff and students who prefer to wear a mask to continue to wear a mask to their comfort level. When possible, please keep at least 3ft apart from others at all times. Remember to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer to maintain a clean environment.
W.A. PERRY BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS
W.A. Perry strives to provide an environment where all students feel safe and respected. I am beginning to notice disrespectful, defiant behavior, fights, and neighborhood issues. Many of these incidents could have been prevented if students had taken the issue to guidance or a school administrator. Please speak with your child about your behavior expectations at school along with the expectations of Richland One and W.A. Perry Middle School. I am willing to work with students and provide interventions to help address academic and behavior needs. However, I will not let these incidents negatively impact the culture of excellence we have created at the school. Please remind students if they See Something, Say Something.

Attendance Matters ~ Absence Link
This is a reminder to please turn in excuses for any absences for your child. If your child has a medical excuse, please turn that in when he or she arrives. Also, please remember that parents and guardians can write up to 10 letters/notes explaining the cause of an absence that can be coded as an excused absence. Please help us stay ahead of this issue by turning in excuses in a timely manner.
