Questioned Document Specialist

Description

Forensic scientists who are responsible for using a number of scientific processes and methods for examining documents, whether they be written, typed, or printed, related to a crime scene investigation.

Duties In The Field

They make sure that documents have not been forged or altered, decipher partially destroyed documents, determine where printed material was typed.

Education Needed and case

A bachelors degree in forensic science, with on the job training that lasts at least two years. A case that this was used was the anthrax threat on 9/11/01.
