This past Saturday, our Varsity Softball team traveled to Argyle to compete in two scrimmages. We competed against Brock High School and Argyle High School. Both scrimmages went well and we were able to apply new skills that have been worked on in practice. While playing against Argyle High School, Natalia Rojas (9) and Samantha Garcia (10) both hit home runs! We are so proud of the girls and their hard work! Pictures of the two have been attached.
This Tuesday, our Varsity team will play their first game against Nolan Catholic HS here at PHS. We are also preparing to compete in three different tournaments which will be held over the next three weeks. This Thursday-Saturday, we will be competing in the Dallas ISD Softball Invitational where we will play two teams each day to compete for the Championship Trophy. Wish our girls luck as we kick off our season!

The kids were able to visit with American tennis player Marcos Giron after he upset the #1 seeded player in the tournament and excitedly got his autograph and photos with him.
Some Diamond Hill tennis players also went with us!!

From Coach Soto:
Good morning, I would like to congratulate the tennis team for their commitment to the sport, and waking up early every week to play in our tournaments. Yesterday, the team faced off against some tough competition but we were still able to bring back sets of medals! Jaineel Patel and Jorge Urbina won gold yesterday in male doubles. Hector Palomares won a silver medal in male singles. Omar Jasso and Orlando Renovato won third place (bronze) in male doubles. Thank you all for the continued support!

Benbrook HS
Please congratulate Sophia Jones and Kaden Robinson (mixed doubles A) if you see them today. They were victorious in frigid temperatures at the JV tournament in Arlington hosted by Centennial High School. They played against Naaman Forest and Brewer High School and won the championship by defeating Aledo in overtime, 7-8 (7-5).

Western Hills HS
From Patty Pressley(Executive Director, WHHS Cougar Pride Foundation):
Last Saturday, in the chilly weather, six of our students(including athletes) from Western Hills High School volunteered at LVT RISE Community Center to help with their Mobile Food Pantry. When we arrived, our students were the only volunteers, besides the LVT Rise staff. About an hour in, we had four volunteers from All Saints Episcopal School. LVT Rise Director, Willie Rankin, said that our Cougars saved the day, helping serve over 100 families.
