. during the celebration, there is a big bonfire, and children/adults dance around the pole
. picking flowers and making wreaths are kind of a symbol for the holiday
. midsommar is also a time for weddings and christening
. the Swedish celebrate it to welcome the beginning of summer and the longest day of the year

Traditional Foods
Main Dish: pickled herring followed by spare rib or salmon, boiled new potatoes with fresh dill, soured cream, chives, and meatballs.
Drinks: cold beer and schnapps: the Swedes like it spiced
Dessert: summer strawberries with cream
