Montrose Messenger
April 14, 2023
April is an exciting month at Montrose! In addition to the gorgeous weather, we have plenty to celebrate. This year, we will celebrate the Week of the Young Child as a community. The slideshow below will give an overview of the week ahead. We will also have our first in-school field trip, and will close out the month in celebration of neurodiversity with our Autism Acceptance Month activities.
We will also have a "Celebrate your Name" Week in early May. This week seeks to acknowledge, understand and celebrate all of the great things about who we are as individuals, how and why we were named, and explore our creative talents too. The staff has participated in wonderfully enriching, culturally relevant professional development, and we are eager to share these experiences with your children and families. As we prepare, think about the names in your family and how they came about. We have a survey coming soon!
The next correspondence will be dedicated to Autism Acceptance. Keep an eye out!
We hope you enjoy all the fun activities ahead.
In Partnership,
Mrs. Samuels
Rizzo's Wildlife World is Coming!
On Wednesday, April 19, Rizzo's Wildlife World will bring multi-sensory, hands on, and interactive experiences with wildlife to our school. There will be two assemblies, where Rizzo's staff will engage students in an interactive experience. The children will learn about the animals through jokes and stories. They will also get to touch the backs of majority of the animals if they are comfortable. We are looking forward to a great time!
As a culminating event to the current Pet/Vet theme, this is right on time!
