What is Geothermal Energy?
Geothermal Energy is heat that comes from the center of the earth. The word geothermal comes from the Greek words geo, meaning earth, and therme, meaning heat. People in different countries and states around the world use geothermal energy to heat houses, buildings, and to create electricity.
Pro's and Con's of Geothermal Energy
Pro's:
- Little to no damage to the enviroment.
- It is renewable
- It is replenished at at very high rates
- It is considered the most "green" of all the energy types
- The cost is of using geothermal energy are smaller than other types of energy sources.
