Cullman City Primary School
APRIL, 2020
Dear CCPS Family,
So much has happened since the last newsletter that I struggle to find a place to begin. First of all, we have good news to share, lots of acts of love and kindness are being done in our community during this crisis. There has been such an outpouring of support in Cullman for our families who are suffering, small business owners, health care workers and our neighbors.
Thank you to all the volunteers that packed food and delivered them to our families on the last day of school. Our guidance counselors from all schools, organized this very successful campaign and we had lots of appreciative families.
Secondly, our amazing teachers and families are doing a FANTASTIC job with our new reality: learning from home. Please continue to stay in touch with us through social media. Share your pictures so we can see the creative ways you are learning at home. Our teachers want to support you. Please reach out to us if you have any questions. You can find CCPS on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. In addition to the interactions with your teacher, the morning show will be on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of every week. Also, check out Mrs. Culpepper’s neighborhood for some other information and learning.
We miss seeing our students and families every day. Even though,we have to have a physical distance of separation, we still want to maintain our friendships and connections. Our teachers have worked hard these past few weeks to provide targeted lessons for your children. Please let them know how we can support this new way of learning for you and your family. CCPS teachers and staff have risen to this task of online learning. I am so impressed by the innovative and thoughtful ways they are reaching out to communicate with everyone. We realize that there may be days that you are unable to complete school work. It may be that you will want to do more on one day then another and that is fine as well. CCPS teachers want to help you in any way possible with our new reality.
I know I speak for everyone at CCPS when I say….I can’t wait for the day we come back to school.
Sincerely,
Tricia Culpepper
Principal

While we are away from school you can support your child's learning in many ways! Please use your Clever log in to access Lexia and other educational websites. If you have any trouble logging in, contact me or your child's teachers. The login info is:
Username: firstname.lastname@ccsstudent.org
Password: Bearcats1
There are also many websites offering free subscriptions during the break. A list of these websites was sent via email. If you do not have the list, please email me and I will send it to you. As always, the best way to work with your child is to read, read, read! Discuss words, characters, and the plot as you are reading. You can also ask your child to help sound out words as you read.
We look forward to seeing all of you at CCPS again very soon!

THANK YOU CCPS families for your participation in the St. Jude Math-A-Thon! CCPS students raised $1,230 for the St. Jude Research Hospital. Our students had fun practicing their math skills and earned great prizes while helping other children their age live healthier, longer lives. What a wonderful way to teach your children compassion and generosity toward others in need.
