Ms. Gebhard's 1st Grade Class
Make Yourself Proud!
Classroom Update
After a bit of a crazy snow week, I'm really looking forward to getting back on track with a normal upcoming week!
Middle of year MCLASS assessments have begun. I will send these reports home by the end of February when the testing window closes. In regards to report cards, you will be receiving the PowerSchool report which includes overall grades for each subject. You will also receive the standards based report card, which looks just slightly different from the first quarter. This breaks each subject into the specific standards we are working on. Please review this video for useful information on the standards based report card and feel free to contact me with any questions. Enclosed with the report will be a blue sheet that you and your child will sign confirming that you have reviewed the report. I'm also happy to meet for a mid-year conference if you would like and am glad to have students involved in these conversations as well. Please let me know and we can schedule a time.
We had a great time with Bricks 4 Kidz last week building a motorized see-saw. Check out the pictures below.

Writing: Next week we will be reviewing nouns, verbs, and adjectives as an introduction to learning how to make our writing more detailed.
Math: We will be concluding our unit on measurement this week. After working on measuring objects, we will now look at data/graphing before our assessment Tuesday. We will begin our unit on place value next.
