NWEA MAP reports will be sent home on September 27th!

Homecoming!!

Homecoming is Friday, October 1st! We will have early dismissal at 2:00 pm on October 1st. The Homecoming Parade will begin at 3:30.

Custodial Appreciation Day - October 2nd

Amanda Barlow and Angela Bolls are our AMAZING custodians!! They work so hard and go above and beyond to make sure that students and staff are taken care of. They serve in so many ways outside of their "normal" routine and we appreciate them so, so much! They are a huge part of our Southside family and have contagious positive energy that we love! We especially appreciate the "all for kids - whatever it takes" mentality that they live by each day. We are so honored to get to serve each day with these two! We will celebrate them on Friday, October 1.

NWEA Reading Level Information


You have received your child’s NWEA MAP results; Included in the results is a reading lexile level. These lexile levels have been correlated to grade levels below. We want you to understand that this is one snapshot of your child’s reading ability. If you have any questions, talk with your child’s teacher.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are October 19th and 21st. Report Cards will be distributed in Parent/Teacher Conferences.



Early dismissal: 2 p.m.

Conferences: 2:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.

BOOK FAIR NIGHT SALE

Monday, Sep. 27th, 5-7pm

Southside Cafeteria

We wanted parents to have a chance to come to the Book Fair, so we have set up a night sale just for you. We invite our parents whose last names that begin with A-L to come Monday from 5-6 PM, and parents whose last names that begin with M-Z can come between 6-7 PM. Since we are an elementary school, we will be following the mask mandate policy. All visitors will be required to wear masks in order to participate in the book fair.

Breakaway Lanyards

Parents, if you send your child to school with a mask lanyard, please make sure they have a breakaway lanyard instead of the standard, solid band lanyard. The breakaway option is much safer for our children. Thank you for your help with this!

Water bottles

Students need to have their water bottles sent to school with them daily. They are encouraged to get drinks throughout the day after recess, P.E., etc. They are especially important this school year because water fountains are closed. We do have water bottle refilling stations in the school. Please make sure to label your child's water bottle with his/her name.

Chromebook Safety

Chromebook Safety

  • Cabot Public Schools has taken measures to ensure that district issued Chromebooks are safe to use.
  • The Chromebooks you received from the district are controlled by the Cabot Public Schools network.
  • Once a student logs into the device, the district can track how it is being used, where it is located, and control what is being downloaded.
  • GoGuardian has been installed on each Chromebook. This application restricts access to things on the internet that are inappropriate. Students will only be able to install approved software on their Chromebook. However, no filter will catch everything.
  • Please continue to monitor your child's use with a Chromebook.

Monthly Birthday Celebration


Our day of celebration for August and September birthdays will be held on:


Friday, September 24th


We will not be celebrating with treats on any other day of the month. Please do not bring snacks to school on other days. We have very strict guidelines that allot only a certain amount of days to be able to have treats throughout the year. If you choose to send treats, please reach out to your child's teacher to discuss types of snacks to bring. Please drop treats off in the office and someone will take them down to the classroom. Parents will not be able to celebrate in the classroom. Thank you for your cooperation!
