AFUMC Missions has set a goal to collect 60 coats and is still looking for a few more to reach this goal. Please check your closets for outgrown coats and consider sharing these with children in the Athens area. Coats may be dropped off in the galleria area. Thank you!

Parents, we are so blessed this year with a record number of students in our school especially on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays! While we love our open door policy and want you to always feel welcome, we ask that you observe your child's class any time after drop off until 11:30. The most difficult time for parents to drop in is after 11:30. At this transition time when teachers are completing one last activity or children are packing up and lining up, it helps to minimize interruptions. There are safety concerns as we need to keep the halls clear for an orderly dismissal. If you arrive after 11:30 and need to see a teacher or pick up your child, please see Mrs. Laura at the desk for assistance.

Parents of 2's, 3's and 4's: these children are taken to the carpool waiting area between 11:50 and 12 noon. If you are walking down the hall during this time, you may inadvertently slow the progress of your child's class or another class trying to get to the carpool area. We ask that If you walk in for your child after 11:50, please wait in the galleria to receive your child on the walk to carpool down the ramp near the playground doors. Make sure the teacher sees you so she can adjust her class head count as she takes the group to carpool.

These parameters do NOT apply to parents who must walk in to pick up such as Caterpillars, Butterflies, Honeybees and Young 2's. You are certainly welcome to walk directly to your child's room at pick up time. However, If you have an older child to pick up also, you may help us keep the hallways clear by returning to the galleria area to pick up that child at the ramp.

Verse of the Month!

"God made us to do good." Ephesians 2:10

Mrs. Sarah Lawing leads our preschool music class called "Joyful Noise!" As director of Children's Music Ministry at AFUMC, preschool music is now held in the children's music suite which the children enter through the Hope Garden. It is a fun-filled time with singing, dancing and praising the Lord! Children in the 2's, 3's and 4's are beginning to learn songs they will offer at the Christmas Program in December. Mrs. Sarah has great plans for this annual Preschool tradition. Please ask your children about Joyful Noise and Mrs. Sarah. You are sure to hear a favorite song!
