Hybrid and Virtual Learning Details
Please note the addition and changes are in bold.
Students in sixth through eighth grade have the choice of hybrid in person instruction or remain with virtual instruction beginning September 21, 2020. One questionnaire MUST be completed for each middle school child. If you have children attending a P-H-M elementary school or Penn High School, you must complete a different questionnaire for those students. (You will receive a newsletter including an additional questionnaire from the principals of those buildings as well). Please complete this questionnaire by this Friday, September 11th.
The Hybrid in person instruction plan is as follows:
Mondays - all students will attend virtual instruction at home. School day will be from 9:35am - 4:00pm.
The in person school days (Tuesday - Friday) usual start time will be delayed by 30 minutes in order for teachers to connect with those students who have chosen virtual instruction. Bus schedule pick up times will be adjusted to accommodate for the later start. Families who request bus transportation through this questionnaire can check the Infofinder i program (on the P-H-M website) to find out their students' specific bus pickup and drop off times and locations.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays - students with the last name beginning with A-L will attend in person. As a result of the delay, bus drop off time will be at 9:20am and the in person school day will be from 9:35am - 4:00pm. Students with the last name beginning with M-Z will attend virtual instruction at home with the school day running from 8:50am - 4:00pm.
Thursdays and Fridays - students with the last name beginning with M-Z will attend in person. As a result of the delay, bus drop off time will be at 9:20am and the in person school day will be from 9:35am - 4:00pm.. Students with the last name beginning with A-L will attend virtual instruction at home with the school day running from 8:50am - 4:00pm.
Universal masking will be a requirement. Students will be given instruction related to all of the safety protocols which have been put in place due to COVID-19.
The Virtual instruction plan is as follows:
Virtual learning will continue to be a blend of instructional videos, independent guided practice and daily live check ins with their current classroom teachers. All class periods will start with a live Google Meet where virtual students will connect with their teacher/class. Teachers will also hold virtual office hours on Tuesday - Friday to support virtual students from 8:50am - 9:20am.
