Bill Of Rights: Freedoms to the Man
What's the first amendment about?
The First.
The first amendment is every right that man has. Freedom of Speech. Freedom of Religion. Freedom of Press. Freedom to Petition. Lastly, freedom to peacefully assemble.
All of these freedoms have helped people throughout the ages. We couldn't have made changes in our government or our way of life without these. For example, the Civil Rights moved used the Freedom of Speech, press, and Peacefully assemble to help their cause grow bigger until they gained the respect they deserved.
Juries and Trials. Who deserves what?
The 6th Amendment
The sixth amendment states, "the rights of criminal defendants, including the right to a public trial with unnecessary delay, the right to a lawyer, the right to an impartial jury, and the right to know who your accusers are and the nature of the charges and evidence against you." This means that a criminal who is to be put on trial can extend any of these curtsies at his own will. If he is being interrogated, he can ask for a lawyer, and once he is put on trial, he can see all the evidence and know all the charges against him.
Impartial Jury
Lawyer
If a criminal cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed to him by the government.
