Uniform
Please make sure that you child is in uniform each day. Uniform requirements are listed below.
DISMISSAL
PLease review the following reminders about dismissal to help start the year off in a calm and orderly manner.
- All Pre-K and K students listed as walkers must be dismissed from the teacher to an adult or an older student who comes to the teacher and asks for the child. At this time, the student’s tag will be removed. The tag lets us know that we have released the child to someone. No child will be released to walk alone to awaiting car!
- Students in carpool will only be released to cars moving though the carpool line. Students will NOT be released to anyone on foot. If you are not in a car, you must come to the front of the school and pick up the child from the lobby when carpool ends.
- Changes to dismissal routes must be made in the office. No changes will be taken over the phone. In emergencies where temporary changes need to be made, a parent letter must come to the school.
- Please make sure that your child is familiar with how they are to go home and who they are to go home with.
- Please be patient! Things run a bit slower in the carpool line for the first few days. Please understand and respect that our procedures are in place to help keep your child, and every child, safe each day!
- Thank you for all that you do to help us to provide a safe and orderly place to learn!
Special Diet or Food Allergies
The Child Nutrition Program must have written documentation from a physician for students who require an alternative diet or food items. Mrs. Hunter has the "Diet Prescription for Meals at School " form that will need to be completed by the physician. Please let us know if you need this form. If you have submitted one in the past, please be reminded that the form is only current for that school year and that a new form must be completed for the 2018-2019 year.
PTA
The nomination period for PTA officers is now open. Nomination forms are in the office. Nominees must be PTA members to qualify. Nominations will end on September 6. PTA will meet on September 13.
Alta Pointe
Hall Elementary has a school-based therapist from AltaPointe three days each week. If you believe that your child has a need or could benefit from their services, please let the office know and we can help you to schedule an intake appointment.
Boys and Girls Club
Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama – Optimist Branch, located on Michigan Avenue is having a No Cost registration for all George Hall Elementary students. They are working to establish transportation from Hall to the club. Go by their location if you are interested in this after school program!
Class DoJo
Are you connected to your child's Dojo page? Not only will you see up-to-date behavior information, but you can also communicate with the teacher AND have access to your child's CLASS STORY. Similar to a Facebook feed, Class Stories allow the teacher to post reminders and pictures of all of the great things happening in the classroom.
There is also a SCHOOL STORY which allows Mrs. Mitchell to send school wide announcements, pictures, and videos.
Not on Dojo? Contact your child's teacher and get connected!
