Drake Unified Sports Day
A group of students from the middle school and high school participated in the Drake Unified Sports Day through Special Olympics on Thursday, May 2nd. Unified events are put on as a way for students with disabilities to interact and compete with their peers while gaining social inclusion and creating lasting friendships.
The group participated in modified versions of volleyball and basketball, as well as several different free time activities including yoga, parachute, miniature golf, bocce ball, and relay races. The students had a lot of fun, and did a great job representing Knoxville at this event.
