The Director's Dialogue
Welcome November!
- Veteran's Day Celebration will be in the Hughes Field House first thing Monday morning. The Leet Center is asking that parents plan for a little more time at drop off to join your child at a few of the stations before leaving if possible. We would love all families to be able to experience this celebration together.
- On Thursday evening next week our November Family Night will have a reading focus! There will be a parent information time and activities for the kiddos. We will be serving chili!
- Also this week we will be sharing your child's card design. If you'd like the opportunity to purchase cards designed by your child they will be $15 for 10 cards. This is not an obligation just an opportunity if you'd like some.

From the Art Teacher
Parents,
In art, we are working on a unit about greeting card design. Each child will have the opportunity to have their artwork professionally printed and sent home for you to use at a cost of $15 per box of 10 cards with envelopes. Our school will make $3 for each box sold. Students will bring their artwork home with an order envelope no later than Monday, November 11. Please understand there is absolutely NO OBLIGATION TO PURCHASE these cards. It was something that I thought might be of interest to you as parents. If you do choose to purchase cards, the deadline to have them returned to me is November 14 in order to meet the press date set my the publisher. If you choose not to purchase cards, please return the artwork in the envelope to me so that I can mount it for your student to keep.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

WE NEED YOU!!
Stadium Cleanup & Fundraiser - Saturday, November 16 after the 1:30 game
Please join us for this easy fundraiser helping with cleanup at home football games.
This usually takes about 20 minutes and we make roughly $150 per game to help with classroom expenses.
The more families helping, the faster it goes.
If you do not wish to attend the game, we ask that you show up at about 3:30 pm to help.
If we don't have family support, we risk losing this helpful opportunity.
We will have the gloves and trash bags located at the North Endzone during the last quarter of the game.

Phyllis and Richard Leet Center for Children and Families
At the Leet Center, family relationships and children are our passion! At the heart of our learning together, you will find educators who see children as capable learners. Children learn through investigation, exploration, and communication. Our pre-school environment is a natural home-like atmosphere that is filled with inquiry and joy each day.
The Leet Center is also home to our developing outdoor classroom and we believe that all the learning that happens indoors can also be present in the outdoor spaces. Open-ended materials and carefully cultivated spaces provide a place for collaboration, thinking, and representation of ideas. Our learning community includes educators and university students who are working together to listen and learn with children. Children, educators, and families each play an important role in honoring the intellectual and emotional integrity of children.
