The Tacoma area has been seeing light snow all day and we are supposed to get some more tonight (with temps in the low 20s). Who knows what things will look like in the morning. With that in mind, I am re-sending the information needed in the event that the school has a late start or closure for snow/ice. Please read through the information carefully and know that the ultimate decision to bring your child(ren) to school is yours to make, based on your individual road conditions. Details about SNOW SCHOOL CLOSURES:

l. Check all the following radio and TV stations KING, KIRO, or KOMO for school closures.

2. Please follow the information for Tacoma Public Schools. For a number of reasons, we ALWAYS follow their decision and you may not see our school name listed.

3. Sometimes we may have a LATE START: SCHOOL WILL START 2 HRS. LATER. This means classes start at 10 a.m. and morning drop-off begins at 9:45 a.m. MOST IMPORTANTLY, THERE IS NO MORNING EXTENDED CARE WHEN THERE IS A LATE START!

Very Important: THE FINAL DECISION TO BRING YOUR STUDENTS TO SCHOOL IS YOURS SINCE DRIVING CONDITIONS ARE DIFFERENT DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU LIVE. IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO BRING YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL JUST E-MAIL OR CALL THE SCHOOL TO LET US KNOW.

If we get snow during the school day and need to close (or have any other emergency event impacting the entire school), we will notify families in the following steps:

1. All School Email
2. Facebook Page Updated https://www.facebook.com/HolyRosaryTacoma
3. Individual Phone Calls

If school closes, afternoon extended care will also be cancelled. In the event of a late start, there will be no morning extended care. Once notification has been made about a closure during the school day, please pick up your child as soon as possible, while also being careful in adverse driving conditions.
