NHS Band & Guard
All About Band Camp!
Band, Ten Hut!
It takes time, practice, and a great deal of hard (fun) work to be the best NHS Marching Band & Guard we can be...
This email includes important details around this year's Band Camp and notes about key events over the next few months... please read carefully and ask any questions that you may have NOW!
Also, if you haven't done so already, be sure to:
- Bookmark the NHS Band & Guard website (includes the fall schedule)
- Join the private Band & Guard FB page
- Click here to add/view the Band & Guard Google Calendar
- If you have not yet officially registered and paid your deposit for the Fall Season on the NHS Band & Guard Parent Portal, please do so by clicking here!
Let's Get Started!
Band & Guard Member Directory
We are will be enabling the B&G Member Directory (visible only within the secure NHS Band & Guard Parent Portal) to help you manage and coordinate your band lives... Carpools can be incredibly helpful as the schedules kick into high gear.
We place a high value on your privacy (and ours)... and the information in it is completely within your control. At launch, the main page of the Directory will simply be a list of B&G Members first & last name(s) and instruments; when you click upon the B&G Member's names, you will see the parents' names, the account email, and home address. If you choose to display additional information, that will be your choice!
If you would like to opt out of the Directory, only your B&G Member's name(s) and instruments will appear in the Directory; if this is your preference, simply email info@nhsbandguard.com by Thursday, August 10.

Heads Up, Calendars Out...
- Cosmic Bowling is scheduled for Friday, 8/16 at Brookfield Lanes from 6:00 - 9:00 pm... Celebrate the first week of Band Camp for only $25 per person -- it's the best place to be that Friday night, and all proceeds benefit the Greg Chion Memorial Scholarship Fund.
CLICK HERE for more details and to RSVP via the NHS Band & Guard Parent Portal.
- Uniform measuring & distribution is scheduled for Monday, 8/19 (all members - updated 8/14) from 12:00 - 3:00 in the NHS Choral Room. Please send your kids with lunch on their fitting day, as they will be hungry on line! Shoe orders and checks will also be collected at this time.
We need parent volunteers to help size and distribute band uniforms quickly and get the kids on their way. No experience needed, training will be provided! Please make note of which day your child will be fitted, and sign up to help out - we quite literally can't do it without you!!! - We have a very active parent organization, and our first Band Parents Meeting will be held on Monday, 8/19 at 6:30 pm (until practice pick-up) in the Lecture Hall at NHS. This will be a very important meeting and an opportunity to become actively involved in our supportive and enthusiastic family -- Join us to be "in-the-know" and take the opportunity to ask any questions to our board or Mr. Eckhardt!
- On Friday, 8/23, plan to come to Blue and Gold Stadium for Friday Night Under the Lights... your opportunity to see what the Band & Guard have been up to throughout Band Camp, along with a chance to meet other parents, purchase gear, and handle any number of other bits of Band & Guard business. But seriously? It's all about the Show. You won't want to miss it. 7:30 pm, unless we tell you otherwise... :)
- There are MANY more dates to share... but these are the big ones for now. Check out our website for the full schedule if you must know now!
