These Shallow Graves

Auria Dargan

Main Conflict

The main conflict in this book was that a girl named Jo Montfort who wanted to be a newspaper orter like her idol whose name is Nellie Bly. Jo then receives word that her father, Charles Monfort, is dead. They say he died cleaning his revolver one night. But Jo refused to believe that because her father is an incredibly intelligent man and he wouldn't be dumb enough to clean a loaded gun. Knowing that this was suspicious, Jo decides to go and find out the truth about what happened to her father.

Review

I personally liked the book. The suspense and the mystery was very interesting to me. I didn't like the part where Jo was close to finding her love, but then she assumed and they broke up. I loved how it was set back in time so it made the search for the truth even more intimidating. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries and murder solving.
