Student Council Updates!
Our Student Council, led by Mrs. Franke and Mrs. Okken, has been very busy this school year planning school spirit events and organizing charitable efforts for our local community. The charitable efforts continue in December with a food drive for the local food pantry. Donations are being accepted until 12/16, and the winning homeroom will earn a bagel breakfast. On December 19 from 3:15-4:15, students can sign up for some after school fun in the gym. The Student Council is organizing "Reindeer Games" on that day. There will be relay races and other fun competitions. Students need a permission slip and $5 to participate. Our newly elected Student Council officers will continue to plan and organize events that encourage school and community spirit. Great job so far by President Giancarlo Battista, Vice-President Anabella Cole, Secretary Priscila Lavandera and Treasurer Regginna Escobar.
NJHS - Wreaths Across America
Our National Junior Honor Society students are currently running two fundraisers for our local community. A jacket drive for the winter is running until December 23. Your student can donate an old jacket or winter coat in their homeroom. Also, we are contributing to Wreaths Across America again this year. We started this effort on Veteran's Day and will continue to collect donations until December 10. Wreaths Across America is an organization with the goal of providing a beautiful wreath for the gravesites of Veterans during the holiday season. Our donations will go directly to Mount Calvary Cemetery in Butler. There are approximately 2100 graves for Veterans in our local cemeteries. Every $10 that we collect will purchase one wreath.

WTB Boys and Girls Basketball Seasons Begin December 1
Our boys and girls teams are working hard to prepare for the season. Home games are at 4pm. Any student that wants to stay after school to attend home games may do so. Please notify the main office that your child will not be taking the bus home. A staff member will supervise our enthusiastic students in the cafeteria until 4pm, and in the gymnasium during the game. It is important that students are picked up promptly following the home games. I encourage our students to come out and support their classmates! See the link for the basketball schedule.
Theatre Arts at WTB!
Students interested in performing in the spring-time production, Once Upon a Tower....the True Story of Rapunzel, should sign up for auditions with Mrs. Lehman. Auditions will be on January 10 and 12. Once the cast is selected, Mrs. Lehman and Mrs. Okken will prepare our young thespians for a fantastic show!
WTB Club Updates
While Intramurals will be taking a break during December and January, other tuition-based clubs will be running. Ms. Jacobs is starting a Gaming Club on Mondays, starting December 5 and running until the end of January. Mrs. Lehman and Mrs. Franke are organizing a kickball/indoor soccer club to run in January and February. Information will be available on the student-led morning announcements soon. Also, Mrs. Okken and Mrs. Gray will be setting up a Jewelry-making Club for Fridays in January and February.
