Hello, Lighthouse Families,
The end of daylight savings is dramatic and signals we’re just a few weeks away from Thanksgiving break and then the end of our first trimester of this school year. Now is the time for our best partnering. We know a strong partnership between home and school leads to student success and we want to end the trimester strong.
Tomorrow, November 11, is Veterans Day. This is a national day of recognition for all military veterans who have served in the U.S Armed Forces. Thank you, to all our veterans and active-duty military for their service to our country.
A few reminders:
- Extended Learning Day is this Friday, November 12. These days are designed for students to do work related to their inquiry project which cannot easily be done in the classroom such as library research, talking with an expert, conducting experiments, or a field trip.
- We are still looking for volunteers to join the PTO Executive Board. Reach out to Jessica or me with questions or to express interest.
Stay warm….and dry…and have a great week.
With Gratitude,
Lisa Cisewski

Please consider the following information:
- All children receiving a vaccine must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Please wear a face mask. If you and/or your child do not have a mask, one will be provided.
- For more information about the vaccine, please refer to the Fact Sheet.
- If you will be in isolation or quarantine during a scheduled clinic, you will need to wait for another time. Being in isolation or quarantine is a contraindication for receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
- Please plan to stay 15 minutes following vaccination for observation by our clinic staff.
- In order to have vaccine information recorded accurately and to receive information about 2nd dose appointments, please review the information before completing registration.
- The second dose information will be available onsite at the clinic, but please feel free to ask during your appointment. Although recipients of the Pfizer vaccine can get the second dose as early as 3 weeks after the first dose, a 5 week delay is acceptable.
- Registration to these clinics is on a first-come, first-served basis. If there are no appointments available, the clinic is full. Walk-ins are accepted as long as the vaccine is available.
- When registering through PrepMod, the system will ask for insurance information. It is NOT required to upload a photo of the insurance card or share additional insurance information. Those registering can use the drop-down menu to indicate the type of insurance (private, public, etc.) then they can move to the next page. There is no cost to receiving the vaccine, and we will not bill insurance.
- If you need assistance, please call 763-324-4240. Due to the high volume of calls, please leave a detailed voice message, including your return phone number, if you are unable to reach a person when calling. A member of Anoka County staff will call you back.
If there are family members needing COVID-19 vaccines for those 12 and older please visit the MN Department of Health website.
Reminder: Technology Tools, Resources and Log Ins for families:
If you are having trouble keeping track of the technology tools we use in the district, aren't sure how to get to and log in to Schoology, are wondering how to fix an iPad that isn't working properly, and more, make sure to check out the Technology Tools, Resources and Log Ins page on our website. We’ve gathered all the links and information in one place to help families navigate and learn more about the variety of tools used by SLP students.
Potential Nutrislice menu changes
Due to staffing shortages and product availability, school menus may change periodically. Menus on Nutrislice will be updated regularly to reflect any changes. Please check Nutrislice daily for the most updated menu.

Message from PTO - Please join us!
Hi LH Families,
My name is Jessica Wallerstedt and I'm a seventh-year Lighthouse parent and former (and future!) member of the Lighthouse PTO. The PTO helps support the students and staff with educational enrichment opportunities above and beyond what the school can provide and has been of great help to this school that holds a special place in our hearts for so many of us.
The long and short of it is that WE NEED YOU! Being on the PTO Executive Team is minimal commitment - less than an hour a week at most with a handful of extra hours needed in preparation for our one and only fundraiser and possible enrichment activities of our own choosing. I'm coming back on the team to help get it back up and running post-COVID and would LOVE to have you join me!
A minimum of three people are needed for the Executive Team and we are still in need of ONE member to complete the trio (though more are welcome, too!). If you have any questions or interest and would like more information, please email me at jessica.wallerstedt@gmail.com.
Thank you!
