Playground Rennovation
Students helped inform the plans through previous years recommendations from the student council. Students in 2nd-8th grade all participated in a townhall to review preliminary plans and then provided feedback which was shared with the designer. The designer took these recommendations and made modifications.
A Peirce community meeting was held on December 13th to also share these plans. I am very excited to have the outside space revitalized, creating an enhanced space for our students to play and hang out!
Playground Area Improvements
Small turf in the grass area
Nature space
Swing saucer to accommodate more students to swing

Playground equipment will have rusted areas removed/switch out pieces that are not fully intact, paint where needed.
Gathering Area Creation

Hammocks
Climbing structure
Interview Committee
- Interviews generally last 1 hour and are often held in person, although there may be some interviews scheduled virtually.
- The school uses a pre determined set of questions and a scoring scale for each candidate.
- Majority of interviews happen on varying days and times beginning in the Spring until the start of school.
- Those who are interested do not need to commit to attending every interview, but will be invited in based on interest and availability.
- Interview teams will be approximately 3-8 members.
Indicating interest is the first step, additional information will be shared at a later date to those who will participate in the interview process.

Math Bash
Join us and bring a friend to the Math Bash!
inSTEM at DePaul will be hosting our monthly Math Bash, Saturday, March 25th. Math Bash was designed to spotlight the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. We aim to give middle school and high school students exposure to different areas of STEM through fun challenges, introductions to different types of careers, and related activities. To learn more about inSTEM programs for 6th-8th grade girls, please visit inSTEM DePaul.
Join us for an afternoon of hands-on science, math, and engineering activities for mentees, families, and community members to engage in together. You and your child will explore … inspire … empower … and educate yourselves about how much fun math can be. You will also learn simple things you can do at home to foster your student’s interest in STEM. Most importantly, you will get the chance to connect with other families while you and your children learn and play together.
Research shows that family engagement leads to greater student success. Students with engaged parents are more likely to earn higher grades, attend school regularly, have better social skills and go on to college. We are very excited to see family engagement come alive in our inSTEM at DePaul Math Bash. We look forward to seeing you!
Our presenter is Hannah Natividad. Please complete this Google Form if you plan to attend. Be sure to leave your contact info to receive summer registration information.
Location: DePaul University - College of Education
2247 N Halsted St, Chicago, IL 60614
