Hillside News Brief
September 21, 2018
Thanks for Attending the Curriculum Fair
Thanks to all the parents who came to our first annual Curriculum Fair last week. We enjoyed talking with you and showing you our curricular materials. We also appreciated those who stopped by our PBiS table to learn more about positive behavior intervention and support at Hillside. This effort was well received by parents who attended and by staff, as well. Please feel free to give Mrs. Bailey any feedback you might have about our Curriculum Fair.
Free and Reduced Lunch Applications Due by September 26
Applications for free and reduced lunch are due by Wednesday, September 26. If you haven't filled out an application and want to, please do not delay. We have them in our office, and they are available online, as well.
Peanut-Free Table in Hillside's Lunchroom
Parents and Guardians, we have a peanut-free table in our lunchroom. This table is necessary, as we have several students at our school with airborne peanut sensitivity. Anyone who is eating at that table should have a school lunch only, as we can guarantee a school lunch is free of peanut products. If you come to have lunch with your student, please do sit at your student's class table; there is usually plenty of room to join them. We are reserving the peanut-free table for those students with peanut sensitivity and friends who are dining with them who have a school lunch. Thank you!
Hillside Family Picnic
We hope to see you at Community Club's Hillside Family Picnic tonight from 6:00-8:00 p.m. This is a chance for families to get together, eat, and play a little. We are looking forward to a beautiful night.
One School, One Book
We hope you are enjoying reading Flora and Ulysses as our One School, One Book event continues. We continue to discuss this great book and have engaging activities around our reading.
Hillside 5 Guys Night is Next Tuesday, September 25
If you are craving a burger next Tuesday night, feel free to head to 5 Guys Burgers at 7345 Dodge Street; they will donate a percentage of each sale to Hillside on that evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thanks to Community Club for arranging 5 Guys Night!
