Weekly Update
Hello Fort High Families,
We have just completed all course selections for the 2023/24 school year with the grade 10/11 students at Fort High. If your student has not completed the course selection process, administration will be reaching out to the student when we return from spring break to make their selections.
Parent teacher interviews will be taking place on April 12th and 13th from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The structure of the interview process will be a bit different from our previous November conferences. We will be offering in person interviews on April 12th and telephone interviews on April 13th. Our hope is that this will be more convenient for our Fort High families. Details will be coming out after spring break with directions for signing up.
Have a great spring break and please let us know if you have any questions.

LEADERSHIP
FORT HIGH at the ASAA WRESTLING PROVINCIALS
A big congratulations to our EIPS wrestlers, and Fort High Wrestler Klarke Pierce who competed in the ASAA provincial championships last weekend in Lethbridge. Klarke wrestled against the top 5 wrestlers in each zone and demonstrated excellent defensive skills and sportsmanship. Klarke is excited to continue next season and we hope to see more Fort High Wrestlers join him in the provincials next year. Fort High would like to extend their thanks to the Strathcona Wresting club, Coach Evelyn and Coach Amar for their continued efforts with all our EIPS wrestlers.
LEADERSHIP SPRING PROJECTS
The leadership class is beginning their spring beautification projects around the school. This week saw new bird houses and bird feeders get put up thanks to Dylan Baker and Elizabeth Davies. The houses and feeders will be maintained regularly by leadership students. As the snow melts, our leadership students are also beginning to pick up garbage left over the winter months. Other beautification projects are underway so keep a look out for some lovely initiatives on our property.
ELEMENTARY ENGAGEMENTS
The Fort High Leadership class is thrilled to start a new community event series with Win Ferguson Elementary. Each week until June, the leadership students will be traveling to Win Ferguson to participate in mentorship events with the elementary students. This week saw our students reading and building science projects with two separate classes. Our leadership students made wonderful connections and are excited to return after spring break to be with the elementary students.
FORT NIGHT at FORT HIGH
On April 21st students of Fort High will come together to raise money for some of our less fortunate students. The Fort Night for Broken Bees event will see students build various forts in the gymnasium and compete in challenges, games and contests. Students are encouraged to fundraise and get sponsorships from local businesses. Students can then be creative with their fort designs and incorporate the local businesses in their building. Team packages are available in the office and any questions can be directed to Mrs. Villetard at simone.villetard@eips.ca.
