PSAT REGISTRATION
Juniors who are interested in taking the PSAT in the fall should click here to pre-register for the exam. The cost of the exam is $17.
This is an optional exam. The most common reasons for taking the PSAT are:
To receive feedback on your strengths and weaknesses on skills necessary for college study. You can then focus your preparation on those areas that could most benefit from additional study or practice.
To see how your performance on an admissions test might compare with that of others applying to college.
To enter the competition for scholarships from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
To help prepare for the SAT. You can become familiar with the kinds of questions and the exact directions you will see on the SAT.
STUDENT DRIVERS & PASSENGERS
Many of our Eagles are spreading their wings and will be driving themselves to school this year! All cars driven by students must have parking permits, which can be purchased for $25.00 prior to Labor Day. Parking permits purchased after Labor Day will cost $30.00, with the exception of newly licensed drivers. No car will be allowed to park on campus without parking tags after Labor Day. Permits may be purchased starting August 1 in the main office. You may also pre-pay for your permit online by visiting tinyurl.com/smapay. Students who pay online must bring the completed parking permit application to the office to receive their permit. Proof of insurance and a valid driver’s license must be shown at the time of registration.
A NEW PERMIT MUST BE PURCHASED EACH YEAR. Permits from last school year are invalid.
STUDENT DRIVER PASSENGERS: Students are not permitted to carry other students as passengers to and from school or extra-curricular activities without the permission of their parent/guardian and the passenger’s parent/guardian. Requests for students to ride with other students will NOT be granted over the phone. If your child will be transporting passengers, please complete the student driver passenger request form. The form can be found on our website (Forms and Documents>SMA Parents) or by clicking here.
