Week of August 31-September 4
Check Out The Kindergarten Fun!
Tuesday-We learned the yellow song. I hope you are hearing the yellow and the blue song at home. Students are recognizing the color words in our song and in our class work. Great job! We also began writing our names in our writing journals. Students are working really hard on making the first letter capital and the remaining letters lowercase. This week is Random Acts of Kindness week and we created bookmarks. These bookmarks were randomly placed around our school by our guidance counselor. Students will find these bookmarks throughout the week to help brighten their day.
Wednesday-We created a yellow book to discuss things that can be yellow. Students are beginning to learn concept of word. In word study, we are focusing on the letter "Mm" and "Cc". Students are able to come up with things that begin with these letters. Feel free to practice this at home.
Thursday-In math, we began making pattern snakes. Students had to build an ABAB or an ABCABC pattern. This are hanging in our classroom for display. In writing, students wrote about ways they could be kind to each other. I have noticed all students being kind to their friends.
Friday-It's our non-fiction Friday! We read about different kinds of feelings with our Let's Find Out. We also began writing in our alphabet books. Students are working really hard on forming their letters. We read a great book called Z is for Moose by Kelly Bingham. The students loved it so much, we read it twice!
