On the TRAIL - for Mustang Families
April 19-23
We are MT - MUSTANG STRONG!
We've Got This!
We are at that midpoint and things are looking exciting for the end of the year!
We have pushed through all of the challenges life has thrown at us this past year (and a half) and we know we can make it to the end. The Superintendent's letter gave us some optimistic news for in-person graduations and some light at the end of the tunnel. It has shed some hope on the end of the year and excitement is thriving among many in our path.
Now, more than ever, we are trying to provide our students with that positivity and energy to make it across the finish line successfully. Keep doing your best and reach out to teachers and counselors when you are struggling. Let's stay motivated and strong all the way to the end.
Teachers have been asked to check in with students and make phone calls and send emails home to families to help. We ask all parents/guardians and students to routinely check Synergy and email so we can help you meet your goals.
Our goal is to get every Mustang across the finish line as successful as possible.
We've got this!
Go Mustangs!

Safety and Supporting each other
Safety and Procedures:
Key things where we need your help for in-person students -you all do a GREAT job and we appreciate all who are already doing these things. Yet still, a few things have come to our attention that can use some improvement. We are MT so we need all of us on the same page.
- Gates for entrance are for students only -HL, HH, HN and gym/MP gates have an admin present for student screening as they enter (asking if they: screened at home, are symptom free, have a charged chromebook, are they wearing a mask, do they need anything) Anyone else must check at the office and we are not allowing visitors at this time due to safety protocols at school.
- Wearing the mask correctly & social distance - We are MT -all staff and students please wear your mask correctly and social distance. The mask must be over the nose and mouth the entire day as soon as you arrive and until you leave. The protocols have not changed even if someone is vaccinated and while everyone is welcome to their own beliefs they still must follow the protocols.
- Student Bathrooms - just an fyi...administrators and campus supervisors are working on helping a few students stay in class. There are a few on our radar using the bathroom quite often so we are following up with them and contacting the few families. Please encourage your students to maximize the instructional time.
Thank you for your continued help in these areas.
Additional Seats for rooms with 4 day students
-we will only put seats 3 ft apart (min) if there are additional seats needed
-we are watching the numbers and will do our best to communicate to anyone if there is a need for more seats (we will know more on Monday each week)
-families wishing to change their learning option must contact the front office and the request will be considered based upon space
-any changes to be made will occur for the week after the request is made

Virtual Graduation Uploading Photos
Seniors who have submitted an email and are eligible to participate in the virtual graduation ceremony have been uploaded in the system and invitations to participate should be going out. You should have already been contacted via your regular email that was entered in Synergy for that invitation. If not, please check your spam/junk mail and if you don't see it please let us know.
StageClip is the company the district is working with to collect material for the virtual graduation ceremony.
As part of the invitation, you will be asked to submit a picture of yourself in your cap and gown. Please follow the guidelines below when taking the picture:
- Cap is on, gown is zipped up
- The graduate is standing
- There are no props in the photo and the background is school appropriate
- The graduate is the only person in the photo
- The graduate is not wearing more than one approved item of adornment (see my previous message regarding this subject)
- The cap and gown are not decorated
The last day to submit your photo is April 21.
In addition to the photo, students will have the opportunity to submit a short message and a video.
The message will be included next to your photo in the presentation of graduates as part of the virtual ceremony. The video, photo, and message will be made into a product that will be available to the student to post to social media or use as you would like - the video will not be included in the virtual ceremony and is optional. The message is also an optional item.
Both your photo and message will be reviewed by administration and you will be contacted if guidelines were not followed and asked to make any changes needed.
Item of Adornment
Any student participating in his/her high school graduation ceremony may wear one single item of personal significance and/or individual expression during the ceremony. This item may represent the student’s academic or extra-curricular participation and/or achievement in school or the student’s personal characteristics of ethnicity, culture, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, nationality, race, color, ancestry, sexual orientation, marital or parental status, or military service. For more information and the form to submit for approval see our website: http://mths.egusd.net/students/seniors/graduation_information Deadline for submission is April 23
Emails needed for Graduation Submission - if we don't have it already - or you may miss out and we don't want that!
The company the district has contracted with to help put together our virtual graduation ceremony will be sending out a link for students to submit their pictures to be included. In order to assist with that, we need you to provide a current email, that you can check often so you don't miss important notifications. To enter your email in Synergy, parents must log in to ParentVUE,, select "Student Info" and click the button labeled "Edit Information." In the field for "Student's Email," enter the student email address. Remember to click "Save Changes" after entering the email address. The email needs to be an accurate, working address that the student should check frequently.

Respecting each other's safety - following the protocols
Help us to be safe by:
- wearing the mask correctly (over nose and mouth)
- We must wear them on campus now. See past emails about when/where and how to properly wear the mask.
Let's be sure to follow all safety protocols including but not limited to:
- use the daily checklist and do not come to campus if any experiencing any symptoms
- wear masks when on campus
- social distance 6ft or more
These will still be in place even if you are vaccinated. The front office is accessible by appointment.
