MOBILE MUSTANGS INFORMATION CORRAL
We hope you had a wonderful Labor Day and we also appreciate that this was a challenging week with schedules shifting one day as well as Jeffco adding a layer of Zoom security but also creating some login issues for students.
As we move into our 4th week, we are learning that students sometimes miss things because we post announcements and they are missed, fault and learning is happening with students and teachers. However, many of the login and technical issues were solvable. We are attaching a link to the Jeffco Support for Devices. Using this list will solve many issues and also provides a number for contact if all is not working. The link you and your child may want to add as a bookmark is https://www.jeffcopublicschools.org/academics/curriculum/technology_in_the_classroom/TechForEd/support
MAPS testing for Mobile Mustangs
- Mobile Mustangs MAP testing for ELA will be testing Monday, Sept 21 and Tuesday, Sept 22
- Mobile Mustangs MAP testing for Math will be on Wednesday students were given instruction in class this week on how to be prepared for testing

From our PTA!
We hope that you and your families are doing well. The Manning PTA is dealing with the same uncertainties as everyone in our communities, but we are working to provide Manning students with the best experience possible. We invite you to join us in our mission in any or all of the following ways, and we sincerely thank you for your support!
Two of the easiest ways to support Manning are by joining the King Soopers rewards and Amazon smile programs. All you have to do is enroll, and the Manning PTA receives money when you shop- and extended and out of town family can sign up too!
- Please visit https://www.kingsoopers.com/account/communityrewards to enroll. We are listed as The Manning School PTA, organization #UY407.
- On Amazon smile, please select Manning PTA in Golden, Colorado, and remember to go to smile.amazon.com when you shop.
- Join the PTA! Membership is only $10 per person. In years past, in order to respect the many demands on your time and money, we have asked families for a $100 donation at the beginning of the school year which is the foundation of our annual budget. This money supports various programming (like grade-level enrichment programs), fulfills teacher wish-list items and provides gifts-to-school (like new lockers and smart TVs). This year we are asking families to give what they can, knowing that we are all facing different financial circumstances. Please click here to join and here to contribute directly today.
- The PTA makes a huge impact via our committees. Through the dedication of our volunteers, we support the Manning Community in a variety of areas and we welcome new volunteers! The following is a list of our current committees, chairpersons and open positions, some of which take very little time and some that are more involved. Further details can be found on our website. https://manningpta.org/info/pta-committees/ .
Please visit us at manningpta.org and email us any time with any questions or comments at manningmiddlepta@gmail.com. We’re also on Facebook at Manning PTA.
Thank you for helping to make Manning a great school and community!

Google Classroom & Grades: GOOD HABITS
SEL Corner....A Place to Fill Up your Bucket!
After you finish this sentence; think of 5 strength-based qualities you have...I’ll wait... Keeping our strengths in mind helps build our resiliency and bolster those neural networks in our brains.
Ever feel silly while giving yourself a pep talk or as we like to say in the mental health world, positive self-talk? Me too. Frankly, sometimes when other mental health professionals ask me about these things, self-care included, I have a bit of an internal eye roll. But, much like our veggie intake, these can be easy things to neglect. I wonder if the understandable eye roll comes from a similar place...we think we know where we are with our self-care and positive self-talk. “Oh sure, I eat veggies…” but if we did an inventory of our healthy food intake, in all likelihood, we would see gaps. The same applies to our self-talk and caring for yourselves. There will be gaps. Let’s start by noticing when you are talking kindly to yourself, and then notice when your inner critic is being more vocal than that kind side. Counter your inner critic with those 5 strengths you noted at the start of this paragraph.
Want someone else’s opinion about self-talk? Below is an article from the early Covid-19 times:
