Next Board of Education Meeting
The next regular Board of Education meeting will be held at 7 pm on Monday, October 19, 2020 at Metea Valley High School. Please note the current COVID-related restrictions from the Illinois Department of Public Health limit the number of people attending a public meeting to 50. As such, seating at the meeting will be limited to approximately 28 seats for the public. Community members can watch the meeting livestream on the district’s YouTube channel. Meeting agendas and documents will be available online prior to the meeting.
PDAC Meeting
October 20
Parents are invited to attend the next Parent Diversity Advisory Committee at 7 pm on October 20 on Zoom. The topic will be “Equity in E-Learning.” Speakers include district staff and Alix Gallagher, from Policy Analysis for California Education (PACE), to explore how e-learning can be more equitable and accessible for our students during the pandemic. PACE bridges the gap between research, policy, and practice, working with scholars from leading universities and state and local decision-makers to improve performance and equitable outcomes at all levels of California’s education system. RSVP for this meeting here.
Parent University: Google Classroom

Could you use help navigating Google Classroom? The district will be holding its second live-stream Parent University webinar at 7 pm on Monday, October 26. Parents are invited to watch "Parent University: Google Classroom," on the district's YouTube channel. Parents can submit questions to be addressed during the webinar here.

Welcome to New Kendall Families!
We have many unique and wonderful programs at Kendall and so much information for new parents to learn, and we want to make it easier and less overwhelming for you!
Please feel free to reach out to Tushima Bhatia at tushimaj@gmail.com and you will be connected with a mentor to discuss any questions/concerns you have and they will be happy to guide you into the right direction. We are continuously adding more mentors, many who speak multiple languages that represent the Kendall community. Kendall Elementary School is a wonderful place to learn and we hope you will discover that as you explore our community!
Mentor Parents Needed for New Kendall Families
Please let us know if you are available to serve as a mentor parent for a new family joining the Kendall Community (whether they are enrolling in Kindergarten or any of the grade levels). Please also consider if you are fluent in another language so that we can partner you with a family who speaks that language. You will have access to a handbook containing items to review with the family. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050C49ADAA2BA3FB6-mentors2
