Chorus
Our Rhea County High School Singers (Chorus 3) attended the JB Lyle Choral Festival on February 28th, in Chattanooga. They have worked very hard on their music, and will be performing again on May 4th at 6:30. This concert will include all choirs, and the theme will be Classic Rock.
Haphazardly Ever After
Theatre II and III worked hard and dedicated countless hours towards their spring play, Haphazardly Ever After. This fractured fairy tale farce was excellent, and if you would like to enjoy another production, Theatre I will host a performance on April 18th.
Winterguard
This is the Rhea County High School Winterguard team of 2023, featuring Pearl Allmon (captain) Jules Loaring (captain), Will Burnett, Jesicah Poole, Alexa Pachecho, Autumn Wente, Brindisi Rollins, and Danika Davault, all under the guidance of Director Andrea Watson with assistance from Amy Wood and Kim Sutton. Assisting as guard techs are Ansley Thedford, Skyler Hustus, and Callie Wilson, who are members of the ETSU Colorguard Team. This performance-based activity includes choreographed marching, dancing, and spinning with equipment such as flags and prop weapons. The performances have a set theme for each year, with this season’s theme being titled “The Royal Marionette Trading Company”. The team competes with other schools throughout East Tennessee, attending indoor competitions where they perform their show before an audience of spectators and judges. The RCHS Winterguard is halfway into the season so far, having already attended two competitions where they placed 3rd and 2nd in their division. The team has two more competitions left, concluding with the championship at Karns High School on April 1st. They will end their season with a final performance for friends and family scheduled at the high school on April 3rd. The guard is excited for their next performances and hope they continue their success for the rest of the 2023 season.

English I
In Mrs. Jackson's English I classes, students read "The Most Dangerous Game." During the reading of the story, the students identified internal and external conflict, in order to uncover the thematic message of the story. The "Map Project" required plotting the internal and external conflict on a map of the island. where the protagonist, Rainsford, is hunted by General Zaroff for sport.
