A parent/legal guardian must come to school to claim the equipment.

Community and Pride/Comunidad y Orgullo
Two words that come up when talking about Bryan Middle School are community and pride. When you walk through the doors, down the hallways, and into classrooms at BMS you can feel both. In these unique times of school closures and social distancing, it is difficult for BMS students and staff to be apart. It also doesn’t allow you, as a potential Bear, to experience all that BMS has to offer. Before you make your middle school selection, we wanted you to see, and hopefully feel, what Bear PRIDE is all about. As you prepare to make your selection, please check out our website, https://bryanmiddle.ops.org/, and our twitter feed, https://twitter.com/OPS_BryanMiddle, to see all the amazing things that Bryan Middle School has to offer.
We look forward to meeting you!

- Affective skills and/or study skills is offered based on student need. This class feature a curriculum to help students improve the skills needed to be successful in the classroom. This includes organization skills. One of the resource teachers teaches this class.
- The behavior skills program (BSP) is a program that is called for on some students IEPs. Depending on the level of the need of the student, this program can be anywhere from self contained to check in and check out. Our behavior skills teacher and para are ready to meet all of these learners needs.
- The Alternative Curriculum Program (ACP) is a program that students may be identified as needing. This program is supported by our ACP teacher and two paras. The students in this class follow the Omaha Public Schools' ACP curriculum. In addition, students may go to classes such as physical education, chorus, art, or daily living.

Daily Attendance/Asistencia
Communication between home and school is very important. If a child is going to miss school for any reason, please notify the main office. This communication impacts how attendance is marked. If a child is sick, call for each day there will be an absence and share the reason. When it comes to attendance, every minute counts. Missing 5 minutes each day can add up to 2 absences. Double that to 10 minutes, and now there are 4 days of absences during the year. This happens when arriving late ore leaving early for in-person instruction. If a student is doing remote instruction, this happens when a student logs in late or logs off early. Skipping an entire block adds up quickly.
During CUBS, every student utilizes and Attendance Tracker to keep track of missed days. The purpose of the attendance tracker is to really look at attendance and set personal goals for great attendance.
Parent Portal is an app that can be downloaded to a phone or accessed through a computer. It allows parents to access student attendance, grades, and missing assignments.
