Cyber Bullying Involves:

  • Verbal harassment online or via texting
  • Online fraud with the intention to emotionally hurt another
  • Sexting - spreading sexually suggestive photos of a person
  • Stealing online accounts with the intention of sending disparaging messages

  • 35% of kids have been threatened online
  • 53% of kids have said mean things online
  • 58% of kids have received mean messages online
  • Over 25% of kids have been bullied online repeatedly

Solutions

  • If you are a victim of cyber bullying, or know someone who is, speak up and get outside help from someone you trust (i.e parents, teachers, mentors, etc.).
  • Save the evidence of bullying and block the bully.
  • Inform the service providers.
  • Educate others about cyber bullying
  • Most importantly, ignore the bully.
