THE SYSTEMS
Skeletal System
The Skeletal system is made up of 206 bones. Each bone has a particular job. Your bones protect vital organs, support your body's weight, and store important minerals.
Muscular System
Most of your muscles are attached to bones and skin with tendons. Muscles take up 40% of your body's weight and you use 200 of those muscles when you take a step. There are over 640 muscles in your body and they control smiling, breathing, running, and even blinking.
Digestive System
The digestive system helps break down food into nutrients. The first step in the process is chewing food. Once the food has been swallowed, it goes to your small intestine, then to the large intestine, and eventually exits your body.
MORE SYSTEMS....
Circulatory System
The Circulatory system sends oxygen and nutrients through the body. This system is made up of the heart, blood vessels, and blood.
Respiratory System
Parts of the Respiratory system are the lungs, trachea, and bronchi. This system helps take in oxygen and give off carbon dioxide. Air enters through your nose or mouth, travels to your trachea, into your bronchial tubes, and into your lungs.
Nervous System
The Nervous System takes in information and responds to it. The Nervous System controls muscles and balance. This system is what allows you to think, feel, and dream. The Nervous System is made up of your brain, nerves, and spinal cord.
